Schwarz Produktion is clearly signaling its future ambitions by investing over 300 million in the prominent bakery Bonback Halle (Saale). Such substantial investment illustrates the company’s commitment to enhancing its footprint in the food manufacturing sector.

Since acquiring the factory last year, Schwarz Produktion is significantly expanding production capacities. Additionally, a new high-bay deep-freeze warehouse is under construction, set to become the logistics hub at Star Park Halle (Saale). As a result, this expansion is projected to create more than 400 new jobs in the region.

At a recent press conference attended by the Minister of Economic Affairs of Saxony-Anhalt, Sven Schulze, and the Mayor of Halle, Schwarz Produktion’s CEO, Jörg Aldenkott, presented these exciting developments.

“With the expansion of the Bonback Halle (Saale), we are responding to the tremendous success our baked goods have achieved in Lidl and Kaufland bakeries. Customers value the outstanding quality of Bonback products. Notably, the Lidl bakery was recognized again as the best bakery in 2024,” Jörg Aldenkott stated.

Bonback Halle (Saale) consistently combines traditional baking craftsmanship with innovative production techniques. The dough is prepared gently and without preservatives, utilizing predominantly regional ingredients while ensuring a long cooking time. This meticulous process, coupled with the use of a stone oven, imparts a unique flavor to the breads and rolls produced in Halle.

During his tour of Bonback Halle (Saale), Economics Minister Sven Schulze expressed his satisfaction: “The investment by Schwarz Produktion sends a strong signal for Halle, for Saxony-Anhalt, and for our overall economic development. With 300 million euros and over 400 new jobs, this investment underscores that our state provides excellent conditions for business growth. This secures jobs, strengthens our region, and solidifies Saxony-Anhalt’s position as a prime investment destination.”

Mayor Egbert Geier added: “The expansion of Bonback Halle (Saale) reaffirms that our city offers optimal conditions for business development. We facilitate support for investors through central contacts and streamlined communication channels. This efficiency means that Bonback can commence construction immediately. Moreover, our ongoing infrastructure development in Star Park has laid the groundwork for Schwarz Produktion’s engagement. I am thrilled that we have found such a strong partner in the company. This investment propels our journey towards sustainable and future-oriented economic growth.”

“The expansion is a clear commitment to the Halle (Saale) location. Here, we benefit from ideal conditions for further growth, including a motivated, highly qualified workforce, ample space, and the unbureaucratic support from the city administration,” Jörg Aldenkott concluded.
