Here’s your latest news update on food manufacturing. This week we cover some exciting developments that could make a real difference to productivity and energy conservation in the food industry.
New Technologies Driving Efficiency
In a bid to improve efficiency, Bühler has launched a new portfolio, designed to increase yields, combat aflatoxin, and offer ease of use. The portfolio works by sorting and cleaning grains at high speeds, thereby enabling processors to achieve better food safety, at a lower cost.
Similarly, the launch of Unibloc Hygienic Technologies in North America, and their Flotronic Pump Production, marks an exciting new chapter for the firm. Specifically, the pump production will produce perfect solutions that meet the stringent sanitary requirements of the global food, pharmaceutical, and personal care sectors.
Partnering for Success
Collaboration between companies within the food industry is key. Recently, TNA partnered with Burts Snacks, to ramp up their production capabilities and boost output. Thanks to TNA’s state-of-the-art technology, Burts Snacks achieved a substantial increase in throughput and reduced downtime, all while maintaining the same level of quality.
Future-Proofing with Reverse Osmosis
In the pursuit of water conservation, new product launches are set to revolutionize reverse osmosis technology. One such development is ultra-efficient reverse osmosis technology, which halves water treatment energy consumption. By using fewer resources, the technology could help future-proof our increasingly scarce water resources.
Sorting out Aflatoxin with Key Technology
Hyperspectral sorting technology from Key Technology is now available to help tackle contamination of bacon bits with aflatoxins. Using a unique hyperspectral image of each bacon bit, this system meticulously sorts the bacon bits to weed out any that might have been contaminated. The technology is a development that could go a long way in helping to combat food-borne illnesses, and improve consumer confidence.
