The CAP 350 cabbage cutting machine from Kronen efficiently handles red and white cabbages up to 350 mm in diameter, achieving optimum cutting quality while processing up to 5,000 kg of cabbages per hour. This impressive capability positions it as a vital asset in food manufacturing operations.
A large feeding hopper is designed for continuous filling, enhancing operational efficiency. The CAP 350 made its debut alongside the Hewa 4000 washing machine at the Fruit Logistica trade show, showcasing Kronen’s commitment to innovation in food processing.
“The Kronen booth yet again attracted a great deal of attention at this year’s event. We were delighted to welcome visitors from 50 different countries, and we are extremely pleased that our innovative new and established solutions sparked such strong interest among international trade representatives,” stated Stephan Zillgith, managing director of Kronen. “Visitors to our booth were particularly interested in our new product presentations, for example the CAP 350 cabbage cutting machine and the Hewa 4000 Helical washing machine.”
The CAP 350 represents an upgrade from the CAP 68 model, specifically designed to process larger cabbage heads, thus providing a significantly improved processing capacity. Moreover, its open and user-friendly design has been optimized for hygiene, cleaning, and operational safety.
This cutting machine features a wide infeed tube for continuous filling. Additionally, angled blades on the cutting disk and a specially shaped product infeed ensure optimal intake of cabbage heads, minimizing any uncontrolled movement during operation. For those requiring specific cut sizes, shred shorteners allow for precise cutting lengths, complemented by various cutting disks available for different thicknesses.
On the other hand, the Hewa 4000 is a high-capacity washing machine ideal for universal applications and optimized for hygiene and cleanliness. This machine effectively handles the pre-washing, washing, disinfection, and treatment of various products, including cut and whole lettuce, vegetables, herbs, and fruit. It can be strategically positioned between low-care and high-care areas for flexible and efficient processing.
The wash tank can be filled automatically via an infeed belt or manually. The Helical washing system transports both floating and sinking products through the wash tank in a spiral movement. Additionally, the water flow rate and movement can be adjusted for different products. At the wash tank’s end, the product and water are conveyed to a vibration or belt outfeed, where they receive a fresh water shower before the recycled water is pumped back into the wash tank, ensuring sustainability in food processing.
This machine accommodates a wide variety of products, including salad leaves (such as baby leaf and iceberg lettuce), cut and whole vegetables, herbs (both cut and whole, such as parsley and chives), and fruit (like pineapple and melon). Furthermore, it can process leafy products (like spinach), tuber products, pulses, mushrooms, as well as seaweed and kelp.
After processing, the Hewa guarantees a clean, undamaged product, often disinfected with a washing additive. Moreover, the washing process enables efficient mixing (for mixed salads) and optimized cooling.
The manually operated HGW grid cutter is highly versatile, equipped with numerous cutting inserts to process a variety of products. This machine efficiently cuts, peels, punches, and cores fruits, vegetables, and lettuce up to a height of 270 mm.
In addition to standard cutting types (slices, cubes, sticks, chunks, or segments), specialized punching forms are available—coring tools for cabbages or peppers, cutters for kiwis or cauliflowers, and mango pitters. With these versatile inserts, processing a broad range of products, including pineapple and cabbage, becomes seamlessly achievable.
