Myco, a plant-based manufacturer, has recently expanded its production site in North Yorkshire to meet the increasing demand for its Hooba burgers and sausages. The expansion, which added 3,000 sq ft to the existing facility, is expected to increase production by a staggering 600%. This growth will allow the company to vertically farm a greater quantity of oyster mushrooms to be utilized in their popular meat alternatives.

At the Leeming Bar HQ site, all stages of the production process take place under one roof, ensuring efficiency and quality control. With the expansion, Myco anticipates hiring approximately 70 new employees within the next year. CEO David Wood expressed his excitement about the company’s success, stating, “Sales of our Hooba range have exceeded even our highest expectations, and customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.”

“We had always planned to scale up production gradually over the next few years, but the opportunity to expand at such a rapid pace is truly thrilling,” Wood added. This rapid expansion serves as a testament to the superior quality of Myco’s products and the growing demand for plant-based alternatives in the market.

The company’s commitment to sustainability and innovation has positioned them as a leader in the plant-based food industry. With the expanded production capacity, Myco is poised to meet the increasing consumer demand for healthy and environmentally friendly food options.
