GEA Launches Redesigned Pre-Dryer to Improve Efficiency and Reduce Costs for Food Manufacturers
GEA has unveiled its newly redesigned first stage pasta dryer, the New Generation Pre-Dryer, which offers more simplicity and practicality to help food manufacturers reduce costs and improve production efficiency.
According to GEA, the redesign has improved accessibility, reducing cleaning time and maintenance costs, and optimized process efficiency through the use of CFD simulation (computational fluid dynamics) to achieve high productivity and product quality.
One of the standout improvements is the reduction in the number of shelves, which transport pasta from the inlet to the outlet of the machine by vibration, from nine to three, significantly increasing drying efficiency. This has also made the machine more easily accessible for cleaning by allowing the shelves to be removed and replaced more efficiently.
The New Generation Pre-Dryer also features a new “Down-Top” ventilation concept, utilizing “optimized counter-current heating” of the product for high efficiency and maximized air/product interaction, ensuring a high-quality final product. The machine’s ventilation motors have been located outside the drying chamber, reducing costs while making them more easily serviceable.
The modular design of the New Generation Pre-Dryer also offers seamless adaptation to handle varied production capacities, and two machines can be coupled in parallel if required. The new design is more compact compared to its predecessors and can be adapted to fit into existing lines.
GEA’s technological expertise, combined with a thorough understanding of customers’ needs, has culminated in the stainless steel construction of the New Generation Pre-Dryer. It is more efficient, easy to set up and maintain, is more durable over time, and is more versatile than previous models.
Overall, the New Generation Pre-Dryer is a game-changer for food manufacturers, offering improved hygiene and quality control, increased efficiency, and reduced operating costs. Those seeking a more streamlined pasta production process would do well to consider GEA’s latest offering.
