PepsiCo UK has announced its plans to relocate its British headquarters to the One Station Hill building in the heart of Reading, Berkshire. This strategic move reflects the company’s ongoing adaptation to current food manufacturing trends and a commitment to evolving workplace needs.
Previously, PepsiCo has been operating out of South Oak Way in the Green Park business park, located within the Reading area. This transition signifies not only a change of scenery but also aligns with the latest food and drink sustainability efforts focused on ensuring a better work environment for its employees.
The company’s decision to shift into Reading town centre was inspired by its ambition to create a “future-proofed workplace”, tailored to enhance employee experience and adapt to modern ways of working. This intention aligns with the broader trends in the food and beverage industry, aimed at fostering innovation.
The One Station Hill development is part of a significant regeneration initiative within the Berkshire town. Both local businesses and the council are optimistic that this project will cultivate a “bustling new central hub and gateway” to Reading, capturing the essence of current food distribution trends.
PepsiCo UK emphasized that their relocation decision stemmed from a “desire to remain in Reading”, seeking a site that provides “first-class facilities.” This move not only enhances their operational capabilities but also underlines the importance of food and drink packaging advancements.
“We are excited to be moving to One Station Hill in 2025 and being part of the new vision for a vibrant, regenerated Reading town centre,” stated Jason Richards, general manager of PepsiCo UK & Ireland. This move is anticipated to aid in aligning with food and drink marketing strategies that resonate with modern consumers.
“One Station Hill will offer our UK-based employees a modern and collaborative workplace that supports our flexible ways of working. Furthermore, the building has been designed with sustainability in mind, reflecting our own commitments to reducing our impact on the environment.” This initiative showcases PepsiCo’s dedication to food and drink regulations and sustainability standards.
Furthermore, the new site is expected to foster a “great employee experience”, keeping sustainability at its core. Its convenient location near Reading’s main line and Elizabeth Line station adds considerable value, improving accessibility for all employees and underscoring PepsiCo’s commitment to enhancing workplace mobility.
