GCMMF’s partnership with MMPA will introduce the first Amul branded fresh milk products in the United States market. This collaboration between Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Limited (GCMMF) and Michigan Milk Producers Association (MMPA) brings together the world’s largest dairy cooperative and America’s 10th largest dairy cooperative, respectively. The partnership aims to bring GCMMF’s renowned Amul branded fluid milk products to millions of Americans.
Owned by 3.6 million dairy farmers in India, the Amul brand is one of the fastest growing dairy brands globally and India’s largest consumer products group. MMPA President and CEO Joe Diglio expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “This collaboration with Amul allows us to expand our product offerings while supporting another cooperative’s growth in the United States, benefiting dairy farmers in both countries.”
MMPA’s innovative caseless milk packaging design and proprietary fluid milk technology enable the marketing of fresh Amul milk in specialty stores in the Midwest and East Coast. Under the brands Amul Gold, Amul Shakti, Amul Taaza, and Amul Slim n Trim milk, Amul will offer milk with varying fat levels to cater to different preferences. This collaboration leverages MMPA’s advanced technology capabilities and high-quality member milk with Amul’s established international reputation for premium dairy products.
Discussing the historical ties between Amul and Michigan, Amul Managing Director Dr. Jayen Mehta highlighted the significance of the partnership with MMPA in bringing the taste of India to American and Indian consumers alike. He emphasized the alignment of this initiative with the vision of India’s Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi to elevate Amul as a global dairy brand.
