Princes of UK name new CEO

Princes of UK name new CEO Mitsubishi Corp., Princes Food and Beverage Business

Princes Group, a UK food and drinks producer, has appointed Simon Harrison, their deputy managing director, as the new CEO. Harrison, who has been with the company since 2021 as chief commercial officer, brings nearly two decades of experience from Coca-Cola European Partners. He will succeed Cameron Mackintosh, who held the position since 2017.

Owned by Japanese conglomerate Mitsubishi Corp., Princes Group has been asked for more details regarding Mackintosh’s departure. Kazuhito Suematsu, chairman of Princes Group, expressed well wishes for Mackintosh’s future endeavors, noting the major investments made into Princes’ infrastructure in recent years.

Harrison’s appointment as CEO comes at a time when Princes is experiencing significant growth under his leadership as deputy managing director. The company’s diverse portfolio includes Princes canned seafood, Branston baked beans, Crosse & Blackwell tinned soups, and Jucee squashes and cordials.

In recent developments, Italian food processor Newlat was in talks to acquire Princes from Mitsubishi. However, negotiations came to a halt in February due to changes in market demands. Newlat remains open to revisiting the deal if Mitsubishi decides to reconsider the offer.

Harrison expressed his excitement for the opportunity to lead Princes into its next phase of growth while maintaining their mission of offering delicious choices sustainably. Despite reporting a loss in their last financial year, Princes remains focused on capitalizing on opportunities and delivering value to consumers.
