With over 75 years of experience in the food and drink packaging sector, Hinojosa Packaging Group is making a return to Seafood Expo Global in Barcelona from April 23 to 25. Following the success of 2023, the company is steadfast in its commitment to innovation and sustainability in developing products for the industry.
Recognized for its innovative approach and dedication to sustainable consumption, Hinojosa has extensive expertise as a producer of packaging for the seafood sector. The solutions being presented in Barcelona come from the Valladolid plant. These packaging options, 100% recyclable and of renewable origin, aim to enhance food preservation and freshness, ultimately reducing waste. Specifically designed for the fish and seafood industry, these innovative box formats cater to the entire supply chain, from producers to large retailers.
The packaging created at the Valladolid plant is engineered to withstand challenging conditions, lasting anywhere from 40 to 50 days at sea, enduring extreme temperatures and high humidity levels. This durability and adaptability make it a vital choice for the seafood industry, ensuring freshness and quality from catch to consumption around the globe.
At the expo, Hinojosa will showcase energy-efficient freezing boxes for wild fishing and aquaculture operations, streamlining the freezing process both at sea and on land. Additionally, there will be smaller format solutions with premium printing for retail products like canned goods.
One standout offering is the 360 Green Packaging range. “Halopack by Hinojosa,” produced from FSC-certified cardboard with exceptional resistance to freezing, water, and high temperatures, reduces carbon footprint and single-use plastics by up to 80% compared to traditional plastic trays. Another highlight is “Sumbox,” an airtight and waterproof packaging designed for transporting fresh seafood, ensuring the product’s quality remains intact throughout the journey.
With a diverse range of sustainable alternatives, Hinojosa aims to support companies in promoting environmentally-friendly consumption models in the food and drink sector. This commitment aligns with the crucial task of reducing plastic pollution, a pressing environmental concern.
