PepsiCo unveils strategy to enhance snacking activities in Brazil Food and Beverage Business PepsiCo

The food and beverage industry trends continue to evolve, and global giant PepsiCo is keeping up by announcing an expansion to its snacking plant in Cabo de Santo Agostinho, Brazil. This move aims to meet the growing demand for its popular Cheetos and Cebolitos snacks in the local market. With the addition of a new production line, PepsiCo will also be able to introduce its Torcida brand of snacks to the Pernambuco region site, located near the city of Recife.

By investing in the facility’s development, PepsiCo plans to increase its production capacity by approximately 30%. This expansion will not only fuel the company’s growth but also create 300 new direct and indirect jobs, contributing to the local economy. Construction work is already underway and is expected to be completed by May 2024.

Inexcfoods, director of operations at PepsiCo Brazil, Marcelo Zanetti, commented, “The northeast region is strategically important to PepsiCo, and we have continuously invested in its growth. Over the past four years, our production capacity has increased by more than 50%.” With a total of eight factories across Brazil, PepsiCo currently employs around 700 people in the Pernambuco region.

PepsiCo has been actively optimizing its business operations in Brazil. Last August, it made headlines by selling its biscuits assets to local manufacturer Camil Alimentos. This deal included factories and employees, demonstrating PepsiCo’s focus on refining its portfolio and streamlining operations in the region.
