Müller is set to construct a new production facility at its Alois Müller dairy in Germany for jarred yogurt products sold under the Landliebe brand. The building, which will cover 4,500 square meters, will be equipped for filling, sorting, and cleaning returnable jars. This expansion will significantly increase the production capacity for yogurt at the site, with production expected to commence in the first half of 2026.
According to Cornelia Heiser, managing director of Müller Germany, “This investment is an important step for one of the Landliebe brand’s iconic products, yogurt in a jar, which will be bottled in Aretsried from 2026.” The new production building is part of Müller’s €140m ($152m) investment in the Aretsried site over the past decade, which also includes a new high-bay warehouse and an extension to the administration building.
In February, Müller announced the gradual closure of two sites acquired from FrieslandCampina last year, one of which was used to produce Landliebe yogurt products. Heiser explained, “A comprehensive economic analysis has shown that, under these conditions, the two production sites have no prospect of returning from the deep red to a profitable business in the long term.” Additionally, Müller recently acquired UK-based dairy company Yew Tree Dairy to enhance its export business and strengthen its supply chain resilience.
Transitioning to future growth opportunities, Müller’s investment in expanding its production capabilities reflects a strategic focus on meeting the evolving demands of the food and beverage industry. By enhancing its operations and product portfolio, Müller aims to position itself as a key player in the competitive market landscape. This commitment to innovation and expansion underscores Müller’s dedication to driving business success and meeting the needs of consumers in the food and drink sector.
