US dairy alternatives supplier Elmhurst 1925 is making a strategic move into the plant-based meat sector.

The company has recently introduced a plant-based chicken product crafted from hemp protein, addressing current consumer interests in food and beverage industry trends.

Elmhurst 1925 is offering a dry powder, enabling customers to create their own plant-based cutlets with ease. Users need only to combine the powder with water, oil, and a selection of spices.

The TerraMeat Plant-Based Chick’n Starter Kit is now available for purchase online at Elmhurst1925.com, retailing at an SRP of $47.50.

This kit contains ten pouches of Plant-Based Chick’n powder, alongside ten packets of spices, a silicone mixing cup, and a spatula, providing a comprehensive solution for home chefs looking for innovative food and drink consumer trends.

Elmhurst 1925 asserts that the product—marketed under the TerraMeat brand—delivers “26g of complete protein per serving.” The company emphasizes that it replicates the texture and layering found in traditional meats without relying on filler ingredients, texturizing agents, whiteners, or other unnecessary additives commonly present on the shelves.

Originally rooted in conventional dairy, Elmhurst 1925 transitioned to non-dairy alternatives in 2017, aligning with evolving food and drink consumer trends.

“We are bringing the same innovation and commitment to quality that we brought to plant-based dairy,” stated Elmhurst 1925 CEO Henry Schwartz. “Consumers are increasingly seeking simple ingredients and clean-label alternatives to the ultra-processed options on the market. We couldn’t be prouder to offer a product that excels in taste, texture, and nutrition.”
