Currently, 440 ml cans and 330 ml bottles of Wrexham Lager Export (5% ABV) are available for purchase in all Welsh Waitrose stores.
This new partnership with Waitrose marks a significant milestone for the brand, which has successfully expanded into the US, Canadian, Australian, Scandinavian, Hungarian, and Northern Irish markets over the past 18 months.
In an exciting development, Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney acquired a stake in The Wrexham Lager Beer Co in October 2024, joining the Roberts family as co-owners.
The duo, who also hold majority ownership of football club Wrexham AFC, purchased the brewery through Red Dragon Ventures, a joint venture formed with their R.R. McReynolds company, alongside minority investors, the Allyn family from Skaneateles, New York.
Commenting on the new listing, interim CEO of The Wrexham Lager Beer Co, Jon Roberts, stated: “Expanding our UK footprint with our new partnership with Waitrose is another huge milestone for the business. We’re excited to put forward our high-quality lager to a wider range of shoppers, strengthening our presence on the high street and helping bring our product into more Welsh households.”
“Following another strong year of business, we’re looking forward to the momentum ahead, and with more conversations already underway, we’re eager to see the next chapter for the Wrexham Lager Beer Co unfold.”
The Wrexham Lager Beer Co produces a range of beers crafted with the “finest ingredients,” adhering to a unique original recipe that is over 140 years old, which continues to utilize the traditional Bavarian methods established by its founders.
In addition to Wrexham Lager Export, the brewery also offers an original 4% ABV Wrexham Lager and a 4.6% ABV Pilsener.
