The Botanist Gin has expanded its range with the addition of two new offerings: The Botanist Cask Rested Gin and Cask Aged Gin. These new releases represent the first domestic innovation from the acclaimed gin brand.
Based at the Bruichladdich Distillery on Islay in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland, The Botanist is known for its pioneering approach to gin production. Crafted using 22 hand-picked botanicals, The Botanist is conceived, distilled, and hand-crafted at Bruichladdich, a B Corp Certified Distillery.
The award-winning Islay Dry Gin from The Botanist has achieved global recognition and success, ranking as the no.4 Super Premium gin in the world in volume and winning two gold medals at the 2024 World Gin Awards. The company’s head distiller, Adam Hannett, and his team have been experimenting with gin maturation since The Botanist was first distilled in 2010.
The Botanist’s Cask Rested Gin has been matured for a minimum of six months in a selection of fine casks, incorporating 16 different cask types from various regions. This process combines The Botanist’s signature complexity and fragrant botanical notes with wood spices, creating a vibrant and complex cuvée that redefines the expectations of gin. Similarly, The Botanist Cask Aged Gin is a blend of six different cask types that have been aged in Bruichladdich’s warehouse for a minimum of three years. This aging process results in a creamy and viscous mouthfeel and a unique blend of fruit flavors and toasted oak.
