Squeaky Bean is proud to announce the release of its first-ever meat-free ready meals, featuring its renowned meat alternative pieces. These delectable meals have been developed in response to research findings indicating that only one in five meat-free ready meals contain meat alternative proteins (IRI w/e 28th Jan 23).
The Squeaky Bean Teriyaki Duck Protein Pot and the Squeaky Bean Beef Ragu Protein Pot offer consumers a convenient and quick way to incorporate protein into their diet. These meals can be enjoyed on their own or paired with carbohydrates such as noodles, rice, pasta, or wraps for a satisfying and complete meal option. With just one minute in the microwave, these meals easily fit into busy lifestyles. Furthermore, like Squeaky Bean’s other products, these ready meals provide a high source of protein while remaining low in saturated fat.
Starting September 27th, 2023, the Squeaky Bean Teriyaki Duck Protein Pot (150g, RRP £3) and Beef Ragu Protein Pot (150g, RRP £3) will be available nationwide at Sainsbury’s. The Beef Ragu Protein Pot is made from wheat and pea protein beef-style pieces, smothered in a delightful ragu sauce and topped with applewood smoked cheese. This savory dish can stand alone or be paired with classic tagliatelle pasta or a jacket potato. As for the Teriyaki Duck Protein Pot, it contains the same delicious duck-style pieces found on the Yo Sushi! menu, drizzled in delectable teriyaki sauce and sweet piquillo peppers.
Observing that own label dominates the meat-free ready meals market and only 21% of these meals contain meat alternative proteins (IRI w/e 28th Jan 23), Squeaky Bean recognized an opportunity to innovate and introduce its plant-based products to the ready meal category for the first time. Recognizing the need for ready meals with meat alternative proteins, we saw an opportunity to innovate by introducing two new protein pots packed with thrilling flavors. We chose a popular beef ragu product to replicate a consumer favorite, as well as an enticing teriyaki duck dish, as Asian flavors are beloved among UK shoppers.”
Alongside these new ready meal offerings, Squeaky Bean is also excited to launch two new flavor extensions to its chargrilled and marinated chicken-style pieces ranges. Firstly, the Squeaky Bean Chargrilled Jerk Style Mini Fillets, infused with a distinctive smoky taste, reminiscent of the grill. Made with a classic blend of cayenne, pimento, chili, garlic, ginger, and nutmeg seasonings, these fillets can be enjoyed on their own as a protein-packed snack or as part of a satisfying meal. Secondly, the Squeaky Bean Sweet Chilli Chicken Style Pieces join the brand’s marinated range, combining sweet and tangy flavors. These ready-to-eat chicken-style pieces are made with wheat and pea protein, marinated in a delectable sweet chili sauce.
Both the Squeaky Bean Chargrilled Jerk Style Mini Fillets (120g RRP £3.25) and the Squeaky Bean Sweet Chilli Chicken Style Pieces (130g RRP £3.00) will be available at Tesco starting September 18th.
