Roberto Gandolfo is set to assume the role of CEO on January 1, 2026. Currently, he serves as the Chair of the JET Supervisory Board and the Head of Prosus Europe. This strategic appointment comes in a dynamic period for the food and beverage industry, particularly concerning evolving food distribution trends.
Groen’s resignation follows the recent £3.6bn acquisition of the company by Prosus. His departure marks a significant transition in leadership during a time when food manufacturing trends are rapidly changing.
Since founding the company in 2000, Groen has transformed JET from a student initiative into a formidable global player in online on-demand delivery, aligning with trends in food processing technology.
Over a quarter-century, including the acquisition of Lieferando in 2014 and the merger with Just Eat in 2020, Jitse has led the company to operate in 16 countries, gaining prominence in key markets such as the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands—reflecting significant food and drink industry innovation.
Gandolfo, whose appointment requires approval from the Dutch Central Bank, brings over a decade of experience in technology and platform businesses. His previous role as CEO of the Marketplace at iFood saw him guide the platform from 1 million profitable monthly orders to an impressive 120 million.
Additionally, he fostered growth to over 60 million annual customers, working with a network of 400,000 merchant partners and couriers, aligning with current food and drink marketing dynamics.
Fabricio Bloisi will take over from Gandolfo as Chair of the JET Supervisory Board. This leadership change comes as the industry navigates food and drink sustainability and regulations.
