Golden Hooves has officially announced the launch of its Double Gloucester cheese and a new cracker range, with all products set for retail availability starting Tuesday, 1 October.
Before the release, the regeneratively farmed cheese and crackers will be prominently showcased on Stand 1101 at the Speciality & Fine Food Fair. This event offers delegates an exclusive first taste of these exciting new products.
Joining Golden Hooves’ multi-award-winning cheese selection, the Double Gloucester is offered in both 200g pre-packs and 2.5kg blocks ideal for deli counters. This exceptional cheese is crafted using a recipe that was honored as the Supreme Champion at the International Cheese & Dairy Awards 2023. It features a moderately firm body and a smooth texture, presenting a clean, well-balanced flavor with rich savory, nutty notes, along with a delightful buttery mouthfeel.
In a strategic move to expand brand offerings, Golden Hooves introduces Sage & Onion Crackers and Rosemary & Garlic Crackers. These snacks are made using 100% regenerative flour and butter, ensuring quality and sustainability.
Available for retail in 90g boxes, these rustic, boldly flavored crackers are perfect for snacking, spreading, and dipping, making them an excellent companion for Golden Hooves cheese.
As part of British farmer-owned dairy co-operative, First Milk, Golden Hooves products are actively distributed across England, Scotland, and Wales by notable wholesalers such as Blas ar Fwyd, Castell Howell, Caws Cymru, The Cress Company, Curd & Cure, Longman’s, and Rowcliffe.
The complete range includes not only the new offerings but also Golden Hooves Mature Cheddar, Vintage Cheddar, Smoked Cheddar, and Red Leicester.
Golden Hooves is dedicated to enhancing biodiversity and soil health through grazing cows that naturally work the land. This process promotes plant and wildlife biodiversity, protects the soil, and maintains living roots, contributing to the removal of carbon from the atmosphere and its sequestration into the soil.
These activities align with First Milk’s commitment to continual improvement, supported by comprehensive research that assesses the impact of these sustainability initiatives on soil health.
Leona McDonald, director of Golden Hooves, stated: “Getting regeneratively farmed food and drink into more people’s homes is what we’re all about, so it’s incredibly exciting to be entering a new category with our crackers and expanding our cheese range still further with the arrival of our Double Gloucester. We’ve had this one up our sleeves for a while, after our recipe took the top prize at the ICDAs last year, but with Christmas coming, it seems like the perfect time to share it with the world.”
Golden Hooves’ Double Gloucester and entire range of regeneratively farmed cheeses are available for retail in 200g pre-packs and 2.5kg deli blocks. Simultaneously, the new Sage & Onion Crackers and Rosemary & Garlic Crackers can be found in 80g packs.
