Sudpack and Ulma Packaging have announced their plans to showcase two eco-friendly packaging solutions at this year’s interpack trade fair in Hall 5, Stand C23. Both the flow pack and thermoformed packaging concepts are made entirely from mono-materials, making them fully recyclable. During the event, visitors can observe the live production of these packaging solutions on FM 500 horizontal flow pack and TFS 600 thermoform machines.

The Flow Pack mono-material concept is an efficient and sustainable alternative to conventional flow pack films. Sudpack has designed these mono-structure packages to be equipped with different barrier properties and a wide sealing range, allowing for high process and packaging reliability. Meanwhile, Ulma’s Pure-Line films offer attractive and protective packaging that is comparable to traditional systems, despite their reduced material thickness. These flow packs help prevent food from spoiling prematurely and contribute to reducing packaging weight. In fact, substituting rigid tray packaging with flow pack solutions can achieve material savings of up to 60%.

Furthermore, guests can see Landjäger salami packaged in modified atmosphere packaging on the FM 500 horizontal flow pack machine at Ulma’s stand in Düsseldorf. With a robust and reliable output of up to 200 packs per minute, the LD cross-sealing head ensures the packages are airtight even at high production rates.

As for the thermoformed packaging, Sudpack’s PurePP film is the basis for Ulma’s flexible and recyclable film concept. The TFS 600 thermoform machine is dedicated to producing modified-atmosphere and vacuum packaging for a variety of food products. This thermoform machine is flexible with easy operation and cleaning, ensuring high reliability and efficiency in the packaging process. Thanks to its excellent thermoforming properties and good machinability, the Multifol PurePP bottom film can be processed on standard machines with just minor adjustments. The top web, an Ecopol PurePP Peel, ensures good sealability, making this flexible film concept suitable for various applications, including stackable packaging and large-volume gastronomy needs.

In conclusion, Sudpack and Ulma Packaging are committed to introducing innovative and sustainable packaging concepts to the food packaging industry. These solutions are designed to meet the needs of both producers and consumers who are increasingly conscious of the importance of packaging sustainability.
