Insignia Capital Group has finalized the acquisition of Tillamook Country Smoker, a U.S. producer of meat snacks, by Second Nature Brands, which is part of CapVest Partners’ portfolio.
Since its inception in 1975, Tillamook has been headquartered in Bay City, Oregon, specializing in the production of jerky, meat sticks, and smoked sausages. The company’s products are available through a variety of distribution channels, including grocery stores, clubs, large retail chains, convenience stores, and online platforms across the United States.
Insignia became involved with Tillamook in 2017, and during their partnership, the company achieved significant growth, tripling its revenue and EBITDA while extending its reach from the Pacific Northwest to a national retail network. The company also enhanced its manufacturing capabilities, improved efficiency, and expanded its product offerings, launching a line of zero-sugar meat snacks.
“It has been a privilege to partner with the Tillamook Country Smoker team and the entire Tillamook community. We are proud of everything the team accomplished together and look forward to watching what they accomplish with Second Nature Brands in their next phase of growth,” remarked David Lowe, Managing Partner at Insignia Capital Group.
Looking ahead, Insignia will maintain its focus on identifying investment opportunities within the consumer and food sectors.
Tillamook and Insignia received advisory services from Houlihan Lokey during the transaction, while Kirkland & Ellis provided legal guidance. Second Nature Brands was advised by Solomon Partners, with Willkie Farr & Gallagher serving as its legal advisor.
