AutoStore has recently unveiled its enhanced Grid capabilities, featuring the new Multi-Temperature Solution, an expanded 18-Level Grid, Motorized Service Vehicles, and significant advancements in cube control software.

“AutoStore is shifting to a regular cadence of product announcements, focusing on innovation and execution to better serve our customers. This fall, our new products directly address the challenges our customers face, while providing them with new tools to improve operational efficiency,” states Mats Hovland Vikse, CEO of AutoStore.

The Multi-Temperature Solution introduces multiple temperature zones within a single AutoStore cube. It accommodates both frozen and chilled environments, ranging from -13°F in the frozen section to +42.8°F in the cooled areas. This design facilitates the picking of frozen products at Ports in the chilled area, eliminating the need for operators to work in extreme cold. Consequently, this innovation enhances working conditions and boosts efficiency in handling frozen inventory. Currently, two Multi-Temperature Solutions are being implemented: the first at Haugaland Storhusholdning, a Norwegian food distribution company, and the second for La Réserve des Saveurs, both installed by trusted partners. This solution will be available for order starting Q1, 2025.

The vertical reach of the AutoStore Grid has been extended from 16 to 18 levels with the use of 330 mm Bins, and from 24 to 26 levels with 220 mm Bins. This vertical expansion results in a storage density improvement of up to 12.5%. Furthermore, by adding two additional levels, fulfillment centers can achieve an 11% reduction in Grid floor space without compromising accuracy, flexibility, or modularity. This enhanced capability will be accessible to all customers undertaking new Grid installations.

AutoStore also introduces a Motorized Service Vehicle, designed to simplify maneuvering on top of the Grid during routine maintenance tasks. This tool enhances system reliability for larger customers while prioritizing worker safety. Orders for the Motorized Service Vehicle will be accepted starting Q1, 2025.
