In an exciting move to combat the problem of plastic bottles, the founder of GUNNA Drinks has announced the launch of a new water brand, Water Almighty. This brand will offer the first carbon-neutral, aluminium bottled functional water in the UK, providing a sustainable alternative to the harmful plastic bottles that currently dominate the market.

This initiative comes on the heels of the establishment of The Sustainable Bottling Co., a new aluminium bottling factory. Water Almighty will offer retailers and caterers two aluminium bottled functional waters, both of which are planet-friendly and carbon neutral. The brand will launch with one still and one sparkling water, each with seven added minerals and electrolytes (RRP £1.99 per 470ml bottle).

Plastic bottles are a major contributor to single-use plastic waste. Greenpeace research indicates that only 10% of the plastic that goes into recycling in the UK is actually recycled. With the environmentally friendly option of aluminium bottles, Water Almighty aims to offer a solution to this problem by providing a planet-friendly switch for both retailers and consumers.

Water Almighty’s new bottles have the added benefit of being reusable and refillable thanks to the resealable cap, in addition to being recyclable. This sustainable packaging option aims to address the booming consumer demand for functional food and drink, with the added minerals and electrolytes providing wellness benefits to consumers.

The market for water in aluminum bottles has grown rapidly in the USA, reaching over $1bn in revenue. Water Almighty plans to lead this sector in the UK, capitalizing on the potential for sustainable packaging options in the water market.

Melvin Jay, the founder of GUNNA Drinks and The Sustainable Bottling Co., commented: “We’re thrilled to be launching Water Almighty to market. We hope that by giving consumers more choice to pick planet-friendly options, we can do our bit to end the industry’s reliance on damaging single-use plastics.”
