Sapling Spirits, a renowned London-based spirits company, has proudly unveiled a new line of vodkas presented in striking aluminium bottles. These bottles are provided by Vetroplas in partnership with their Spanish manufacturing ally, Envases.
This strategic launch aligns with Sapling’s mission to create sustainable products and packaging. As a certified B Corp, Sapling exemplifies its dedication to superior sustainable performance and transparency regarding its practices.
Aluminium is 100% recyclable and caters to the growing consumer demand for environmentally friendly food and beverage packaging. Moreover, aluminium is lighter than glass, which significantly reduces fuel consumption during transportation. Notably, aluminium recycling consumes, on average, 90% less energy compared to glass bottles. By opting for 100% post-consumer recycled aluminium (PCR), Sapling further enhances the eco-friendliness of its packaging.
The 5cl aluminium bottles provided by Vetroplas feature a ROPP neck thread and a BPA NI PE liner, all topped with an aluminium screw cap. The unique decoration is achieved through offset printing, layered over a white base coat, and protected with a matte lacquer.
In a statement, Ned Neville-Rolfe, head of operations, remarked: “We have a distinctive range of vodkas, and this new packaging format provides both further low carbon credentials and really strong stand out on shelf. The ease with which aluminium bottles can be recycled, as well as them offering 100% PCR aluminium, were also major factors in our choice of Vetroplas’ bottles. We know this element is appreciated by customers and forms part of our philosophy of reducing carbon footprint where possible.”
