Tetra Pak is honored to have achieved a place on the annual CDP ‘A List’ for its leadership in corporate transparency and performance on forests. This recognition comes as a result of the company’s achievement of an ‘A’ score, putting it in the top 2% of over 21,000 companies assessed based on data reported through CDP’s 2023 Forests questionnaires. Tetra Pak also received an ‘A-‘ score in Climate Change and Water Security, solidifying its leadership position in the CDP leadership band. Tetra Pak is dedicated to taking action for nature and supporting the achievement of the targets of the Global Biodiversity Framework and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Gilles Tisserand, Vice President Climate & Biodiversity, Tetra Pak, emphasized the urgency of taking action to reduce the impacts of the company’s value chain, restore landscapes, and contribute to the transformation of food systems, stating, “We believe that companies such as Tetra Pak need to act urgently, based on the currently available information, to reduce the impacts of our value chain, to restore landscapes and to contribute to the wider transformation of food systems.”
Sherry Madera, CEO of CDP, congratulated Tetra Pak and other companies on the A List, highlighting the importance of environmental transparency. It is crucial for companies to demonstrate a holistic view of their environmental impact, follow through on their ambitions, and continually ramp up corporate ambition on climate and nature-positive action. CDP’s scoring for forests is conducted through a detailed and independent methodology, assessing companies based on the comprehensiveness of disclosure, awareness and management of environmental risks, and best practices related to environmental leadership. Companies need to score an A on at least one of four forest-risk commodities to earn a place on the Forests A List.
Tetra Pak’s commitment to environmental sustainability and transparent reporting has ensured its inclusion in the CDP Forests A List for the eighth year running. The company’s dedication to nature, climate, circularity, social sustainability, and food systems sets it apart in the carton packaging sector.
