TekniPlex Consumer Products, a globally integrated provider of innovative solutions through materials science and manufacturing technologies, is set to showcase its expanding fiber-based packaging capabilities at the International Production & Processing Expo, taking place from January 30 to February 1 in Atlanta. Visitors to Stand 32033 will have the opportunity to explore the company’s range of egg cartons made from recycled fiber, including the new Fiber ProPlus Egg Cartons. These cartons are recyclable wherever paper and cardboard recycling is available, and they are known for their exceptional product protection and performance on industry standard packaging equipment.

As a leading player in the egg packaging space, TekniPlex Consumer Products continues to invest significantly in the fiber egg cartons segment. This includes the upcoming opening of a greenfield molded fiber production facility in Van Wert, OH, which is expected to begin operations in Q2 2024. Spanning 200,000 square feet, this will be TekniPlex’s eighth molded fiber facility.

In addition, visitors can look forward to seeing prototypes of the company’s upcoming Bi-fold Egg Cartons made from 100% post-consumer recycled PET at the expo. Scheduled for market introduction in Q2 2024, these new cartons will be over 15% lighter than tri-fold PET constructions.

From a meat and poultry solutions perspective, TekniPlex Consumer Products will be showcasing its diverse range of material solutions at IPPE, designed to address recent government-led initiatives to eliminate traditional polystyrene trays. This includes the introduction of foam polypropylene (PP) trays, which are lightweight, heat-resistant, and a suitable replacement for common foam polystyrene trays. The company continues to innovate compostable meat and poultry trays for the future.

TekniPlex Consumer Products’ 100% PET Processor Trays offer another appealing option. These transparent trays provide premium product display and are recyclable in regions with PET recycling streams. With up to 50% PCR content, they are available in two unique, proprietary rim options to accommodate various film overwrapping materials and processes.

“The wide range of solutions for eggs, poultry, and meat that we’re showcasing at IPPE align with our ‘Sustainability And’ philosophy, which emphasizes both the environment and product functionality in everything we do,” said Eldon Schaffer, CEO of TekniPlex Consumer Products. “We’re committed to improving product performance while prioritizing eco-friendliness, and we firmly believe that progress on both fronts can be achieved simultaneously. Sustainable resins and fiber-based packaging constructions are just two of the tools in our toolkit, and we look forward to putting them on display at this year’s show.”
