Sappi, a reputed global provider of renewable packaging materials, is set to showcase its innovative paper and board products and flexible packaging solutions at the upcoming interpack show. The company will also be providing details on its current investments in its various mills and the latest solutions that have been developed as a result.

Under the “Futureproof” theme, Sappi will be highlighting its expanded portfolio of packaging papers and new technology added to its production sites since the last interpack show six years ago at Stand B35 in Hall 8A. The company aims to underscore its position as a leading global provider of renewable packaging materials.

“Our customers are seeking, and legislation is now demanding, sustainably produced and recyclable materials for the outer packaging of their goods. We have invested heavily to consolidate our position as a premium supplier of wood fiber-based packaging papers and boards,” says Marco Eikelenboom, CEO of Sappi Europe.

Sappi’s multi-million euro investment at its Alfeld mill in Germany is set to result in the production of innovative high-barrier papers. The new type of barrier coating line installed at the mill will allow the company to quickly and flexibly respond to the current and future market demand for sustainable and recyclable packaging.

At the fair, Sappi will also be introducing two new high-level barrier papers from the Guard product family – Guard HS and Guard Twist – which can be used in the food sector as confectionery wrapping.

Sappi is also unveiling its Seal Light, which is a sealable paper without barriers designed for primary and secondary packaging in the functional paper packaging segment. In the flexible packaging segment, the company is introducing its new Crystalcon range – an uncoated, compostable, translucent paper suitable for both food and non-food applications.

Sappi is also showcasing its successful wet glue label paper, Parade Label Pro. Due to increasing demand, the company has expanded production to a higher basis weight for Parade Label Pro, which was previously available in grammages of 80 g/m² and 90 g/m².

With a range of new products and technologies, Sappi is committed to supporting the increasing demand for sustainable and recyclable solutions in food packaging.
