Reconomy, a leading global circular economy specialist providing sustainability technology, data, and services to a broad range of industries, is excited to introduce its new sustainable food and drink container service for businesses across the United Kingdom.

Every year, the UK alone discards 10.7 billion single-use food and drink take-out containers after just one use. This poses a significant environmental threat that demands immediate attention.

Therefore, Reconomy aims to assist businesses in transitioning to a practical, commercially viable, and environmentally friendly reuse solution.

The collection offers a wide range of reusable containers suitable for various applications, each capable of being reused over 1,000 times. This not only helps reduce carbon emissions by up to 96% but also eliminates litter, landfill, and incineration. Additionally, it reduces transportation and storage requirements and enables easy recycling at the end of its lifecycle.

In addition to promoting circularity, businesses can expect significant cost savings of approximately 70-85% over a three-year period compared to using single-use disposables.

Alongside this new service, Reconomy has implemented its own single-use plastic policy to minimize the utilization of such plastics in its operations and services, as well as among its employees. Furthermore, Reconomy will actively collaborate with customers and suppliers to seek positive solutions for reducing unnecessary waste plastics.

Nathan Gray, Head of Sustainability at Reconomy, remarked, “This entirely new service offering reflects Reconomy’s commitment to diverting customers from single-use plastics while simultaneously demonstrating our dedication to eliminate their use within our own operations.”

“At Reconomy, our objective has always been to lead the way in the reuse revolution and enable significant carbon efficiency improvements across various sectors. We are thrilled that this initiative will empower more businesses to make a positive environmental impact while reaping commercial benefits.”

“In conjunction with our single-use plastic policy, this initiative reflects our commitment to expediting the transition to a more circular economy at Reconomy, as well as through our valued customers and suppliers.”
