The fruit and vegetable packaging market is experiencing significant transformations. With the implementation of the new EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), manufacturers are increasingly prioritizing recycling rates and material conservation. The industry is actively researching sustainable solutions. Poly-clip System, a global leader in clip closure technologies, will showcase a breakthrough at Fruit Logistica 2026, set to occur from 4 to 6 February in Berlin.
Introducing net-pak®: a comprehensive system composed entirely of compostable components, demonstrating the company’s commitment to food and drink sustainable packaging. This innovative solution can be effectively utilized with the new Somi net clipper.
Trade Fair Highlights: net-pak® System and Somi Net Clipper
Central to Poly-clip System’s presence at this leading global trade fair for fresh produce will be the net-pak® system, specifically designed for packaging fruit and vegetables. This system features bio-nets, bio-clips, and bio-labels that are entirely compostable and certified to meet industry standards. By offering this unique solution, the packaging specialist provides retailers and packagers with an innovative alternative to traditional plastic net packaging, thereby facilitating their transition towards more sustainable packaging options. Collaborating with the Spanish company Damarc Agrobotic, Poly-clip has developed the Somi net clipper to produce net-pak®. It utilizes the cutting-edge DC N3 600 clip head, which is the first to work with fully compostable clip packaging. This technology empowers manufacturers to adopt bio-compostable materials without extensive adjustments.
