Parkside has successfully renewed its collaboration with crisp artisans Two Farmers to create compostable crisp packets for Colicci, a distinguished coffee shop operator with a presence in over 40 locations throughout London.

This new initiative utilizes Parkside’s innovative compostable material to produce packaging for three different flavours of crisps offered by Two Farmers. The varieties—Lightly Salted, Cheese and Onion, and Salt and Cider Vinegar—are now available for purchase at Colicci’s restaurants, cafes, and kiosks. After consumption, the empty packets can be disposed of through regular waste streams where permitted by local authorities, and they are designed to decompose within 12 weeks in an industrial composting facility.

Ian McManus, Sales Account Manager at Parkside, expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, “The most successful and rewarding partnerships are always the ones where all parties share the same core business values. Two Farmers and Colicci are both leading by example when it comes to sustainability, and so are we, making this project a pleasure to work on.”

He added, “It’s a project that proves sustainability doesn’t have to mean compromising on pack performance or eye-catching aesthetics. In fact, proactively pursuing solutions that minimise your impact on the environment can enhance brand narratives.”

This launch represents the latest chapter in the ongoing partnership between Parkside and Two Farmers, which has resulted in various sustainable crisp packet solutions in recent years. The new packaging employs an advanced triplex configuration of Parkside’s compostable material, delivering end-of-life benefits alongside strong barrier properties and a highly printable surface for vibrant designs.

The material is sourced from renewable feedstock, reducing the reliance on petrochemical plastics, and it has received independent accreditation as compostable according to global standards. This aligns with Two Farmers’ wider sustainability goals. The crisp manufacturer has recently invested in a granulator that facilitates the breakdown of compostable crisp packets into smaller fragments, which are then combined with production waste and processed through an on-site anaerobic digestion system to generate renewable energy.

Colicci’s locations are strategically positioned at some of London’s most popular tourist destinations, allowing consumers to enjoy the new crisps at renowned spots such as Green Park, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, and St James’s Park, with views of Buckingham Palace.
