PACK EXPO Las Vegas, recognized as one of North America’s most extensive events for packaging and processing, is commemorating a significant achievement: 2025 marks the 30th anniversary of the show’s launch. Today, PACK EXPO Las Vegas serves as a vital global hub for innovation and collaboration in the industry, particularly in food and drink packaging.

Show producer PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, has transformed PACK EXPO Las Vegas from a regional trade exhibition into a worldwide industry powerhouse, enhancing its scale, influence, and relevance in international markets. This year, attendees can expect over 1 million net square feet of exhibit space, featuring 2,300 exhibitors, and attracting around 35,000 visitors from more than 40 diverse sectors.

“PACK EXPO Las Vegas has always been more than a trade show—it’s where the future of packaging and processing takes shape,” says Jim Pittas, president and CEO, PMMI. “For 30 years, we’ve been proud to drive innovation, foster collaboration, and spotlight the technologies shaping tomorrow’s supply chains. As we look ahead, we remain focused on the forces transforming our industry: automation, AI, sustainability, and workforce development.”

Since its inception in 1995, each iteration has unveiled advanced technologies, ranging from initial automation solutions to current advancements in AI, robotics, and food and drink sustainable packaging. PACK EXPO Las Vegas has consistently been at the forefront of innovation over these three decades, evolving in tandem with the industry it serves. Highlights include:

  • In 2015, the event introduced a new emphasis on pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing, eventually leading to the creation of today’s Healthcare Packaging Pavilion, showcasing the show’s expansion into specialized sectors.
  • The increasing demand for logistics solutions—propelled by the rise of e-commerce and supply chain complexities—resulted in the introduction of the Logistics Pavilion in 2023.
  • The Processing Zone, which features cutting-edge solutions, and the Processing Innovation Stage, were established to provide food and beverage manufacturers with comprehensive resources for improving production, all in one location.
  • Las Vegas has emerged as a key destination where the industry convenes, particularly with the introduction of the Industry Speaks learning stage, where leaders from the PACK EXPO Las Vegas Partner Program share valuable insights and resources.
  • In 2023, Sustainability Central debuted as a vital show floor destination, featuring educational sessions that address sustainability—one of the most multifaceted challenges facing the packaging and processing industry today. Expert-led sessions assist attendees in navigating these complexities and understanding their implications for their brands.

Looking ahead to 2025, two new guided show floor tours will offer curated experiences for attendees. The PACK EXPO Discovery Tours, sponsored by Formic, are perfect for first-time buyers and senior decision-makers seeking automation solutions to streamline various stages of packaging and processing. Meanwhile, the PACK EXPO Sustainability Tour, sponsored by Anchor Packaging, caters to consumer packaged goods (CPG) brand owners in search of eco-friendly solutions.

PMMI takes pride in honoring the PMMI Member Companies that participated in the inaugural 1995 event and continue to showcase their offerings today. This recognition includes a special PMMI legacy member exhibitor placard displayed in their booths. A comprehensive list of these members can be found here. Their ongoing support has significantly contributed to the innovative legacy and ongoing growth of PACK EXPO Las Vegas.

Apart from the exhibits, PACK EXPO Las Vegas features over 100 free educational sessions on the show floor, alongside eight specialized pavilions dedicated to healthcare, confectionery, containers and materials, processing, logistics, education and workforce development, industry association partners, and reusable packaging.

“As the industry accelerates toward smarter, more sustainable operations, PACK EXPO Las Vegas remains the one place where it all comes together—technology, insight, and community. This year’s show reflects the momentum we’re witnessing across the market, with record participation and unmatched opportunities to learn, connect, and grow,” states Laura Thompson, vice president, trade shows, PMMI.

This event presents an exceptional opportunity to forge relationships that drive business growth. From targeted events to unforgettable experiences, PACK EXPO Las Vegas unites professionals from all levels of the industry.
