The bio-granulate is an advanced biodegradable and compostable material derived from potato starch called NOPLA ®, developed in close collaboration with Polish scientific institutions, particularly the Gdansk University of Technology.
INTRODUCING NOPLA ®
NOPLA® represents a patented breakthrough, providing a cutting-edge solution in sustainable packaging materials made from potato starch. Our process involves purely physical and mechanical modifications, avoiding any chemical alterations to ensure that NOPLA® remains a completely natural, non-synthetic material free from artificial additives.
Its decomposition is eco-friendly, as it does not release microplastics due to the absence of any plastic components. This material is both biodegradable and compostable, suitable for disposal in various environments, including household composters, saltwater, freshwater, and soil.
APPLICATIONS OF NOPLA ®
- NOPLA® offers a cutting-edge, plastic-free alternative for packaging. This versatile biogranulate can be used in various production techniques like injection molding, blow molding, and thermoforming, enabling the creation of environmentally friendly products using existing machinery.
- We have established a proprietary production line exclusively for NOPLA® biogranulate, protected by copyright. Production officially began in May 2023.
- NOPLA® complies with EU Directive 904/2019 SUP, allowing for the manufacture of items such as cutlery, straws, earbuds, and balloon sticks for the EU market. It also exceeds the standards of the EN 13432 composting standard, decomposing within 3 to 6 months under household composting conditions.
- NOPLA® has been approved for food contact, undergoing rigorous migration tests by the Polish Institute of Hygiene to ensure its safety in food-related applications.
