Latest Tray Sealer Revealed by JBT Proseal JBT, Latest, Proseal, tray sealer Food and Beverage Business

JBT’s Proseal is excited to announce the launch of its new XTRs entry-level heat-sealing machine, which serves as the successor to the highly successful GTR tray sealing machine. With a focus on efficiency and sustainability in food packaging, the XTRs promises to deliver exceptional performance for its users.

The XTRs machine is a revolutionary semi-automatic, two-station rotary-table that can seal up to 30 packs per minute using a two-impression tool. One of its key features is the elimination of the need for compressed air, providing seamless operation for users. This innovative plug-and-play solution includes a user-friendly human machine interface (HMI), offering multi-language settings, diagnostics, alerts, and automatic audit trail recording for enhanced convenience. Additionally, the HMI facilitates easy recipe-driven product changes and automatic tool locking.

The XTRs’ all-electric sealing capability ensures consistent and efficient seal force. This not only reduces energy usage but also lowers the overall cost of ownership for users. The re-designed machine has been optimized to meet the evolving requirements of today’s food production industry, allowing for tool loading from the front of the machine. This simplifies tool changeover and ensures compatibility with legacy GTR tooling that users are familiar with.

Jon Garner, President of Proseal, commented, “We are proud to introduce the XTRs, the latest advancement in our tray sealing technology. At Proseal, we prioritize quality, service, accuracy, and responsiveness to our customers’ needs. Building upon the capabilities of the GTR, the new XTRs is a more sustainable and efficient solution while maintaining compatibility with the tools our customers rely on daily.”

The XTRs boasts an open and hygienic design, allowing for easy maintenance and cleaning. Its quick-release tooling enables users to switch between tray sizes in under five minutes. The machine features a PLC-based temperature control system and is fully portable, with an automatic film feed. Optional features include the ability to run printed films and utilize modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) through an efficient gas flushing system, enabling extended shelf life for packaged food products.

The XTRs will be unveiled at both the Pack Expo exhibition in Las Vegas and Proseal UK’s Open Day at its global headquarters in Cheshire. This will provide an opportunity for industry professionals to experience and learn more about this cutting-edge solution for food packaging.
