Korozo Group, a leading international manufacturer of flexible packaging, is set to showcase innovative solutions at major industry exhibitions in Europe and the USA next month. Their portfolio signifies a pivotal shift toward the future of flexible food and drink packaging on a global scale.
At FachPack 2025, scheduled for September 23-25 in Nürnberg, Germany, Korozo (Stand 4-343) will present solutions tailored for proteins, confections, baked goods, frozen foods, and snacks. This range features advanced stand-up pouches, high-performance thermoforming and skin films, enhanced barrier packaging, as well as recyclable and circular options.
To drive sustainable initiatives, Korozo integrates its proprietary KoroRCY PE-based laminating film into pouches, films, flow packs, and other packaging structures. This innovation allows brands to transition to recyclable packaging designed for an increasingly circular economy.
Many brands across Europe have embraced KoroRCY for creating highly functional mono-material constructions compatible with existing flexible plastics and PE recycling systems. These solutions offer enhanced barrier and performance attributes, making KoroRCY-sourced packaging suitable for a diverse range of fresh, frozen, and dried food applications, as well as numerous non-food uses.
Notably, one of these innovative projects has been shortlisted in the ‘Innovation’ category of the FlexoTech Awards 2025. This initiative features renowned ice cream brand Ben & Jerry’s, which has introduced recyclable pouch packaging for its ‘Peaces’ frozen treats range.
KoroRCY will also play a significant role during Korozo’s participation at Pack Expo Las Vegas 2025, taking place from September 29 to October 1 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
At Booth #SL-19065, attendees can explore Korozo’s latest solutions designed to address the evolving needs of the industry, while experiencing the company’s commitment to delivering sustainability, pack by pack.
Highlights include recyclable packaging innovations, advanced pet food packaging solutions, and a comprehensive portfolio of stand-up pouches and high-performance barrier films. Additionally, Korozo will unveil a new FDA-compliant vacuum skin packaging (VSP) film (10K VSP) for fresh seafood. This film meets the necessary oxygen transmission rate of at least 10,000cc/sqm/24 hours, ensuring oxygen levels remain high enough to inhibit harmful bacteria growth.
Kemal Yurum, Protein Segment Market Manager at Korozo, commented: “The appetite of consumers for meat, fish, and dairy products in Europe, the USA, and around the world continues to grow.”
“This is increasing the pressure on food manufacturers to deliver products that are packed in a manner ensuring maximum protection, extended shelf life, retail appeal, and user convenience. At the same time, flexible food and drink packaging must be resource-efficient and designed for recyclability.”
For instance, Korozo currently offers MDO-PE mono-material packaging structures for non-contact sensitive applications that include 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content. This percentage is expected to grow, surpassing 35% by the end of the decade for non-contact sensitive products. By 2040, the PCR total will reach or exceed 65%.
Kemal added: “I am looking forward to introducing customers, contacts, and the wider industry to our expertly engineered solutions that offer outstanding performance while promoting sustainability and circularity.”
Daniel Strickland of DJS Packaging Solutions, representing Korozo Group in North America, stated: “As the industry across North America embraces challenges and seeks solutions for tomorrow, Pack Expo Las Vegas 2025 serves as an ideal opportunity for the flexible packaging sector to assess its current standing and advance toward a sustainable future.”
