Falconer Print & Packaging, a carton manufacturer based in West Yorkshire, recently created a premium carton for Compass Box, a London-based producer of blended Scotch whiskies. The packaging design, crafted by branding company Stranger and Stranger, celebrates the 20th anniversary of The Peat Monster, a limited edition blended malt scotch whisky from Compass Box.
In crafting the carton, Falconer utilized Crown Prestige 610 micron cartonboard for its strength and excellent printing surface. Various design elements were incorporated, such as overlapping panels and hot foil outlines, to give it a modern yet sophisticated look. The illustrated design was printed using four-color process, with a deboss around the edges to draw attention to the branding. The sides of the carton featured a hot foil and a debossed “The Peat Monster” name style with a distinctive black drop shadow for added depth.
The reverse of the carton included a complex debossed keyline for a tactile premium feel, while the lid featured a debossed effect achieved through hot foil application. All edges were neatly tucked or folded to ensure a polished finishing. The crash lock base provided both durability and ease of assembly. The fully recyclable carton combines vintage and modern aesthetics, with delicate design features that help it stand out in the competitive market.
