The prominent private equity investor DUBAG Group has completed the acquisition of the liquid food filling business of Ampack GmbH and Osgood Industries, LLC from the Syntegon Group. Ampack, located in Koenigsbrunn (Germany), and Osgood, based in Oldsmar (USA), are leading technology providers for food and drink packaging, specifically filling liquid and viscous food products into preformed cups and bottles. Moving forward, both companies will operate under the umbrella brand Ceratech Group to ensure close international collaboration. This strategic acquisition was executed through the LEO III fund, exclusively advised and represented by DUBAG. Financial details of the transaction are confidential.
Long-term investment plans
Specializing in company carve-outs with high potential, DUBAG views the new acquisition as poised for future success. “Ampack and Osgood have earned a strong reputation in the food and drink sustainable packaging industry, known for their high-quality products and extensive machine portfolio. With technological expertise, extensive R&D experience, and a global customer base, both companies are well-positioned for prosperous growth in the market,” states Dr. Michael Schumann, founder and CEO of DUBAG.
Commitment to employees and customers
Recognizing the importance of its workforce’s technological expertise for long-term growth, DUBAG has decided to retain the approximately 300 employees of Ampack and Osgood. Leon van de Wiel, former Managing Director and Vice President Food Liquid at Syntegon and current Chairman of Osgood and Ampack, emphasizes the focus on employee retention and ensuring a seamless transition for customers. “We uphold our responsibility to our employees while fostering successful collaboration for the future,” affirms van de Wiel.
