DS Smith, a leading global provider of sustainable, fibre-based packaging solutions and a part of International Paper, proudly announces its recognition at the Shop! D-A-CH Awards 2025. The company has secured three silver awards for innovative product designs.

The Shop! D-A-C-H Awards are designed to honor excellence in Point-of-Sale (POS) and advertising display materials. These prestigious awards celebrate various aspects of retail marketing, including complex promotions, visual merchandising, and cutting-edge digital technologies. Finalists were determined by a panel of expert judges at the annual awards ceremony held on May 15th in Neuss, Germany.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Shop! D-A-C-H Awards, recognizing outstanding achievements across fifteen categories related to retail activities. Notably, DS Smith’s award-winning innovations include the Wan Kwai Standee, the COMPO BIO Pop Up-Store, and the More x Hitschies Zerup display—each showcasing advancements in food and drink packaging.

The Wan Kwai Standee earned silver for its impactful long-distance visibility and effectiveness as part of the 2024 brand relaunch in the Food, Daily Consumer Goods, and Confectionary category. This visually striking retail stand, crafted from 100% recycled corrugated cardboard, is designed to create a memorable 3D display that enhances visual recognition in stores.

Intended for close placement to Wan Kwai products, this POS stand effectively promotes the brand’s Asian delicacies. Featuring a prominent QR code, it allows customers to engage with the Wan Kwai world directly, including access to recipes. The design was tailored for brand distributor Importhaus Wilms and received high praise from the jury for its aesthetic appeal, impact, and recyclability within wastepaper recycling programs.

In the Home, DIY & Garden category, the COMPO BIO Pop Up-Store display was awarded silver for its innovative greenhouse-inspired design. This concept not only provides a sustainable packaging solution but also successfully draws shopper attention to the manufacturer’s organic product range.

The greenhouse display features a superstructure and high-quality offset printing, offering a unique 3D effect that enhances visibility from a distance. Additionally, the structure contains four half-sized and four quarter-sized containers, which can be configured to accommodate up to six half-sized units. This design facilitates a clear view of products, enabling customers to navigate easily and quickly identify their desired items.

Moreover, the More x Hitschies Zerup display, which also received a silver award, stands out for its attractive presentation during the product launch in the Food, Daily Consumer Goods, and Confectionary category. With bold graphics and high-quality print imagery, this display attracts attention and differentiates itself from competitors.

The display structure features color-coded shelves that align with the various food product flavors, enhancing customer experience by simplifying the shopping process. Additionally, the DS Smith design allows for quick and easy assembly and pre-filling.

Dr. Jürgen Bundschuh, SMI Sales, Marketing & Innovation Director, Germany and Switzerland at DS Smith: “We are thrilled to be selected for these high-level awards in diverse categories. This recognition underscores our expertise and innovative approach, particularly in food and drink sustainable packaging, as well as our commitment to sustainability.
