Leading packaging manufacturer Coveris will unveil its latest breakthroughs in recyclable cheese packaging at the 2025 International Cheese and Dairy Awards (ICDA), set for Wednesday, June 25th, and Thursday, June 26th, at the Staffordshire Country Showground.

Demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainable innovation through its No Waste strategy, Coveris will showcase its comprehensive portfolio of recyclable solutions tailored for grated, block, and sliced cheese formats. Importantly, these advancements do not compromise on shelf-life or product protection, aligning with current trends in food and drink packaging.

At the forefront is MonoFlexBE, Coveris’ award-winning solution for grated cheese. Already successfully integrated with leading UK retailers, including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and ASDA, MonoFlexBE delivers the same high-barrier performance as traditional non-recyclable formats while maintaining a shelf-life of up to 120 days. Its PE-based mono-material structure leads to significant reductions in plastic weight and carbon emissions, all while being fully recyclable through back-to-store collection schemes.

Another significant highlight at the ICDA will be PolyFlex, an advancement in mixed polyolefin packaging. Developed with Coveris’ extruded high-barrier films, PolyFlex offers a recyclable alternative to nylon/PE laminates, fully meeting current performance and shelf-life standards. Furthermore, PolyFlex provides notable environmental benefits, including carbon footprint reductions of up to 36% and weight reductions of up to 13%. Its innovative design earned the Best New Concept Award at the UK Packaging Awards 2024.

The show will also feature Coveris’ latest innovations in sliced cheese packaging. This includes PolyFlex to MonoFlex base web, a fully recyclable mono-material solution that can be easily disposed of through back-to-store schemes. In addition, attendees will see MonoFlexBE lidding, a peelable lidding film compatible with various existing base webs, providing producers with an effective recyclable solution.

Join Coveris at the ICDA on Wednesday, June 25th, and Thursday, June 26th, to discover its pioneering innovations and full range of sustainable packaging solutions for cheese at the Staffordshire County Showground.
