The sale of the Telford-based company, Sirane, and its assets was completed with undisclosed financial details. Specializing in packaging solutions and absorbent products, specifically pouches, Sirane operates in various sectors such as food packaging, medical, healthcare, horticulture, and industrial applications. Due to financial difficulties caused by increasing raw material costs, energy prices, and supply constraints, Chris Pole and Ryan Grant were appointed as Joint Administrators on 15 July 2024.

Unfortunately, more than 170 employees were made redundant last month, as it was not feasible to continue trading the business in administration. There has been no announcement regarding the re-hiring of these workers. Coppice, an international manufacturer and supplier of packaging to various industries, including food manufacturing, processing, baking, wholesale, institutional catering, and non-food markets, has acquired Sirane.

The sale of Sirane includes retaining its Emerald site in Telford and transferring 22 remaining employees to restart production. Chris Pole, Managing Director at Interpath and Joint Administrator of Sirane, expressed optimism about the business’s future under Coppice’s ownership. Meanwhile, Derek Nixon, Chief Executive of Coppice, mentioned their pride in adding Sirane to their family, securing its future and supporting those affected during this transition. They look forward to working with their new acquisition going forward.
