CCL Label, a prominent leader in labels and packaging, is pleased to announce the opening of a new production facility for shrink sleeve labels in Tibi, Spain near Alicante.
Investing in local production allows CCL Label to serve both local and multinational brands efficiently in Spain. Lukas Nachbaur, Commercial and Technical Director at the facility, shared, “Our first brand customers have already experienced the quality and service of our shrink sleeves produced in Spain.”
Utilizing Modern Printing Technology for Premium Shrink Sleeves
CCL Label’s Vice President and Managing Director Food & Beverage, Reinhard Streit, emphasized the significance of the investment in the Spanish market. The state-of-the-art assets in the facility provide customers with premium printing technology, offering flexibility in frequently changing designs.
Focus on Award-Winning EcoFloat Sleeve Technology
While a variety of shrink sleeve materials will be available, the facility will focus on the award-winning EcoFloat shrink sleeves made from polyolefin, approved for PET, HDPE, and PP bottles. These sleeves are designed to be sustainable, supporting material separation and enhancing recycling efficiency.
“Sustainability remains a top priority at our production site. Our EcoFloat sleeves have received endorsements from recycling associations, aligning with the new packaging and packaging waste regulations in Spain,” stated Marika Knorr, Head of Sustainability and Communication at CCL Label.
Sustainability Integrated into Production Site
As part of their commitment to sustainability, the sleeve production will eventually be combined with the In-Mould Label production site, acquired a year ago. The move is expected to take place by 2026, enhancing the recycling process for plastic containers.
“IML is a rapidly growing decoration technology that aligns with our sustainability goals, ensuring easy recycling of containers without the need for adhesives,” explained José Vincente Guillem, general manager of CCL Spain IML plant.
