Avient Corporation, a leading provider of specialized materials solutions, is proud to announce the expansion of its Cesa™ Non-PFAS Process Aid to Asia. This innovative solution, free of fluoropolymers that may contain per- and polyfluorinated substances (PFAS), is designed for polyolefin extrusion and film applications, maintaining performance and efficiency.
“With increasing environmental concerns surrounding PFAS, Avient’s Cesa Non-PFAS Process Aid offers a sustainable alternative for processors in the polymer industry,” said Pal Shi, Asia Marketing Director, Color and Additives at Avient. “This solution not only helps customers comply with regulatory changes but also supports sustainability efforts and competitive advantages, especially in the food and beverage packaging market.”
Avient’s Cesa Non-PFAS Process Aid enhances extrusion by reducing friction between the polymer and metal, minimizing melt fracture, die build-up, and torque for improved throughput. This aids in achieving higher-quality product appearance by reducing optical defects commonly associated with melt fracture, known as sharkskin.
Moreover, this non-PFAS solution meets the safety regulations of Greater China GB 9685-2016, U.S. FDA, and EU food-contact standards, offering performance benefits comparable to traditional fluoropolymer-based additives. It is suitable for various applications such as flexible packaging for food and beverages, including polyethylene and polypropylene films, cast PP films, and PE tubing.
Manufactured in Greater China, Thailand, and the United States, Avient’s Cesa Non-PFAS Process Aid for Extrusion is now available for customers in Asia, the U.S., and Canada.
