Caribbean’s Groupe Antilles Glaces has acquired majority shares in France’s Groupe Saint Aubin. Antilles Glaces, known for its dairy products, soft drinks, and fresh produce in the French West Indies and Guyana, has purchased the group from Capza, a European private investment firm. Financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed.
Based in Paray-le-Monial, France, Groupe Saint Aubin specializes in the production of desserts, savoury snacks, and ready-made products. The company, with 119 employees and three production sites in the Saône-et-Loire region, supplies supermarket chains, bakery chains, and catering distributors both in France and internationally under its three brands: Les Délices de Janice, Chapuis Traiteur Surgelé, and Chapuis Traiteur Frais.
Antilles Glaces, with its association now with Groupe Saint Aubin, aims to enhance the existing operations and explore synergies between the two entities. Valérie Ladieu, managing director at Antilles Glaces, expressed satisfaction in finding common values with Saint Aubin and looks forward to continuing and expanding the group’s activities.
Emmanuel Bonnaud, managing partner at Capza, highlighted the collaborative effort that led to the successful acquisition, emphasizing teamwork and commitment to excellence. He expressed confidence in Antilles Glaces taking over as the majority shareholder of Saint Aubin and wished them success in their future endeavors.
This acquisition marks Antilles Glaces’ second foray into mainland France, following the purchase of ice-cream maker Glaces de Lyon in 2018. The move signifies a strategic expansion for the Caribbean company, which currently operates eight factories and nine logistics platforms across Martinique, Guadeloupe, French Guiana, and mainland France.
In the competitive landscape of the food and beverage industry trends, this acquisition positions Groupe Saint Aubin for continued growth and development under the stewardship of Antilles Glaces. Both companies are poised to capitalize on their strengths and expertise to drive innovation and enhance their market presence.
