Atlantic Packaging, the largest privately owned industrial packaging company in North America, proudly introduces its newly designed CanopyTM Wrap system. This innovative solution serves as an ideal alternative for fully curbside recyclable bundling applications, effectively replacing traditional shrink film. Utilizing advanced nVenia equipment and sustainable paper sourced from Smurfit Westrock, CanopyTM Wrap responds to a growing demand for food and drink sustainable packaging. It provides customers with a competitive solution that emphasizes sustainability without sacrificing performance and efficiency through a proven fiber wrap material and high-speed application process.
“Atlantic Packaging is excited to deliver the new Canopy™ Wrap system as part of our larger, ongoing efforts to help the supply chain transition away from single-use plastics,” said Atlantic Packaging President Wes Carter. “When it comes to shrink bundling for bottles, cans, and food products, the shrink film is typically the only component preventing full curbside recyclability. Canopy™ Wrap helps overcome this barrier, making it easier for companies to meet their sustainability goals as we collectively work together to implement sustainable packaging solutions for a healthy planet.”
By leveraging nVenia’s equipment, Atlantic Packaging can offer a high-speed, automated solution that facilitates application rates of up to 30 bundles per minute. Notably, CanopyTM Wrap achieves comparable material use from PE to paper, leading to nearly a 100% reduction in virgin plastic. This system has been rigorously validated using full-scale ISTA 3 test protocols and also provides customizable printing options for branding and marketing. Furthermore, the Canopy™ Wrap equipment solutions from nVenia can serve as a retrofit for existing bundling machinery or function as a dedicated high-speed bundler.
“We are proud to partner with Atlantic on this solution as ongoing pressures of new legislation, consumer demand, and priorities in the c-suite to reduce waste and create sustainable packaging continue to drive more environmentally focused purchasing decisions,” commented nVenia Senior Vice President of Sales Paul Ferrandino. “We look forward to assisting customers in achieving their sustainability goals while helping set a new industry standard with Canopy™ Wrap.”
