Altopack has unveiled a new model of the AOD machine, one of its leading products in the food and beverage packaging sector, specifically designed for the packaging of long pasta.
Showcased at the IPACK-IMA 2025 fair, the innovative AOD Ultra was presented as a key component of a fully operational long pasta packaging line. This live demonstration underscored the machine’s reliability and capabilities under real production conditions, allowing attendees to directly appreciate its performance in action.
Altopack effectively illustrates that choosing environmentally friendly solutions can yield economic benefits, countering the widespread belief that climate action measures are devoid of additional advantages.
Among its significant advancements, the new cold sealing system replaces all heating elements, achieving a remarkable reduction in power consumption by approximately 70%. Furthermore, the ultrasonic longitudinal and transverse sealing devices contribute to diminishing the film band and cutting pitch, resulting in savings of over 20 tons of film annually. This system’s precision ensures no waste after stoppages, preventing pasta fragments from being caught in the seals, which mitigates the risk of defective packages. Consequently, it fosters a more streamlined and sustainable production process while simultaneously enhancing worker health and safety by eliminating the risk of accidental burns.
Equipped with the EcoFriendly Display, the new AOD Ultra provides a practical solution for tracking the machine’s carbon footprint in real time throughout the production cycle. This tool serves as a concrete means to monitor and convey environmental impact, catering to both operators and companies dedicated to sustainability. Importantly, this is not “greenwashing”; it represents a strategy grounded in measurable and verifiable data.
In addition to its new features, the AOD Ultra retains the attributes that established it as a benchmark in long pasta packaging. It is efficient, combining user-friendliness with high performance. Moreover, it is technologically advanced, capable of integrating the latest smart devices, including a zero air device, cameras for package inspection and printing, and a stripping system, among others. Lastly, its versatility enables seamless integration with various weighing systems, offering customized solutions tailored to meet specific production needs.
