Equi’s Ice Cream is making significant strides in the food manufacturing industry with a new deal that will introduce its three best-selling flavors—Pistachio Swirl, Madagascan Vanilla, and Raspberry Ripple—into 26 Sainsbury’s stores throughout Scotland. This partnership marks a crucial step as the company aims for a turnover of £6 million by 2027, representing a 20% annual growth.
To meet this rising demand, Equi’s has proactively increased production. The company has implemented a nightshift to ensure that it can keep pace with anticipated growth in sales.
Supporting Local Suppliers
CEO David Equi remarked, “This partnership with Sainsbury’s is a huge moment for us. We have worked hard for generations to create ice cream that not only tastes incredible but also reflects our commitment to quality ingredients and supporting local Scottish suppliers.”
“Having three of our most popular flavors listed in 25 of the biggest Sainsbury’s stores in Scotland is incredibly prestigious. We’re excited not only for the immediate opportunities of partnering with such a renowned retailer, but also for the long-term growth potential it brings.”
This collaboration with Sainsbury’s marks Equi’s Ice Cream’s debut in a national supermarket chain. Consequently, the company anticipates increased brand exposure, as well as enhanced opportunities to expand its sales across the UK and into international markets.
‘Scoop of the Day’
Callum Nimmo, regional buyer for Sainsbury’s, stated, “We’re thrilled to unveil Equi’s ice cream as the scoop of the day in our Scottish stores at Sainsbury’s. This partnership is a sweet reminder of our dedication to supporting local suppliers and delighting our customers with exceptional products.”
Currently, Equi’s Ice Cream is sold in seven major retailers across Scotland. Moreover, the brand continues to expand its presence, with plans for future listings that include a potential expansion into England.
