Effective 2 January 2025, Jordi Ferre will assume the role of CEO, succeeding interim CEO Ranjan Patnaik, who will refocus on his primary responsibilities as chief technology officer.
Ferre brings over 30 years of extensive managerial expertise within the food manufacturing and ingredients sector. Currently, he heads the global food division at HealthTech Bioactives, a leading ingredient specialist dedicated to developing solutions for active pharmaceutical ingredients, taste modulation, functional health, and animal nutrition.
Previously, he served as CEO of AgroFresh and COO at PureCircle, further showcasing his capabilities in transformative leadership.
“Based on its impressive technological developments to date and continuous innovation, MycoTechnology is ready to enter its next chapter of growth, bringing breakthrough natural solutions with a lasting impact,” Ferre stated.
“I am excited for the opportunity to accelerate the company’s expansion while strengthening both internal culture and global strategic partnerships.”

MycoTechnology specializes in innovative food and beverage ingredient solutions derived from fungi. The company supplies its products to firms worldwide involved in meat alternatives, ready-to-drink beverages, dairy alternatives, protein-fortified snacks, and functional beverages.
To prepare for his new role at MycoTechnology, Ferre will relocate to the Denver, Colorado area, ensuring proximity to the company’s headquarters.
In commenting on the appointment, Rob Case, chair of the MycoTechnology board, emphasized Ferre’s transformational leadership qualities that will enhance the company’s trajectory, culture, mission, and values.
“With his extensive commercial experience in natural, value-added ingredients, Jordi is well-suited to lead MycoTechnology through continued growth, including the development and launch of new, naturally derived sugar reduction solutions,” he noted.
Case stepped into the chair role in November after a six-year tenure on the firm’s board. He brings valuable senior management experience from Nestlé, where he served as president of Nestlé Beverages, succeeding co-founder Alan Hahn.
“I look forward to continued growth and progress toward our mission of food system transformation, as we build on existing innovations and explore new solutions from nature,” Case stated in November.
