Baumer PAC50: The New Compact Solution for Conductivity Measurement in Food Manufacturing

Baumer has launched its PAC50 process sensors which set new standards for measuring conductivity in small-scale production facilities. These compact sensors use the proven performance and durability of their larger counterpart, the Baumer AF14/5 conductivity sensor.

The PAC50 sensors offer an ultra-compact design measuring just 60mm, making them ideal for tight production lines. IO-Link is a standard feature and the display size can be reduced further to 32mm x 25mm. Despite their size, these sensors deliver high temperature stability up to 140ºC, making them suitable for permanent use even in cleaning-in-place (CIP) and sterilisation-in-place (SIP) systems.

These sensors have an innovative one-piece sensor tip design, providing optimum resistance to strong temperature fluctuations. Moreover, the PAC50’s sensor tip is made entirely of high-performance plastic polymer or ketone (PEEK) enabling it to resist chemicals and higher temperatures.

Baumer’s PAC50 complies with European Hygienic Equipment Design Group (EHEDG) hygiene standards, making it a perfect fit for food and beverage applications. It is also 3-A certified and all media contacting parts are FDA certified.

IO-Link is a standard feature in these sensors, allowing the collection of secondary data such as temperature for process monitoring. This means users can parameterise the sensor and optimise the flexibility via the dual-channel feature, operating it via the analogue or digital channel, or both.

In summary, the PAC50 is a robust, high-performing, and compact sensor that is perfect for modern food production facilities. Its innovative design, ease of use, and compatibility with CIP/SIP systems make it a popular choice for food manufacturers.
