Amin, who joined the McVitie’s owner as CEO in January 2019, is leaving Pladis due to personal reasons.

He transitioned to Pladis from SC Johnson, following a notable 17-year tenure at PepsiCo. Additionally, Amin serves as a non-executive director at ITV.

In the interim, the company’s chief financial officer, Sridhar Ramamurthy, and managing director for Europe and developing markets, Tim Brett, will oversee operations.

Ramamurthy boasts 30 years of experience at Unilever, where he most recently held the position of executive vice president for enterprise solutions before joining Pladis.

Meanwhile, Brett joined Pladis in 2022 after an extensive career at The Coca-Cola Company, bringing more than 30 years of experience in the food and drink sector to the role.

As of now, there is no announced timeline for appointing a new CEO.

Founded in 2016, Pladis operates 27 bakeries and factories across 11 countries, and is home to esteemed brands such as Jacob’s, GODIVA, and Ülker.

This news follows the unexpected resignation of Unilever CEO Hein Schumacher.
