Rockwell Automation is working with Turkish poultry producer Beypiliç to deliver a site-wide safety system at the company’s newly built meat processing plant. Approximately 2,000 safety devices have been installed throughout the facility, supporting a coordinated approach to employee protection and machinery safeguarding.
Safety requirements were integrated into the plant’s design from the outset rather than introduced after construction. This approach enables Beypiliç to apply consistent protection measures across production and maintenance areas while supporting broader food manufacturing trends focused on automation, operational efficiency and risk reduction.
As one of Türkiye’s leading poultry processors, Beypiliç needed to secure electrical panel doors across the new site. The selected system monitors access points without physical contact, helping prevent personnel from reaching moving machinery or electrically energised equipment during operation and servicing.
The project combines Rockwell Automation’s industrial safety capabilities with local engineering, coordination and implementation support from AB Market Elektrik Otomasyon. The company operates as a value-added distributor and authorised member of the Rockwell Automation PartnerNetwork in Türkiye.
“From the beginning, Beypiliç was focused on building safety into the foundation of this new facility,” said Fatih Uzumcu, country director, Türkiye, Rockwell Automation. “By taking a standardised, solution-led approach, they were able to address regulatory requirements while also supporting safer day-to-day operations and maintenance.”
The safety system was also specified for the demanding conditions found in poultry production and other food processing environments. Its installation includes Allen-Bradley 440N Ferrogard GD2 non-contact interlock switches. With an IP68-rated stainless-steel construction, these devices are designed for areas exposed to moisture, washdown procedures and stringent hygiene controls.
Frequent cleaning and sanitation are standard practices in modern food plants. As a result, resistance to water penetration, corrosion and harsh operating conditions is an important factor when selecting food processing technology and safety equipment. These considerations also align with wider food and drink sustainability priorities, as durable components can support longer service life and reduce the need for replacement.
The scale of the installation underlines the value of early collaboration among the equipment supplier, local implementation partner and food manufacturer. Effective coordination helps ensure that safety measures remain consistent while addressing food and drink regulations, facility-specific requirements and long-term operational objectives.

With approximately 2,000 safety devices now in place, the Beypiliç facility illustrates how food manufacturers can embed safety into the design of increasingly automated plants.
