Polish dairy cooperative Mlekpol is poised to invest 400 million zlotys ($110 million) in its Grajewo plant to enhance cheese production.
This substantial investment will unfold from this year until 2029, focused on expanding storage infrastructure, incorporating new cheese packaging lines, modernizing equipment, and automating technological processes.
Mlekpol indicated in a statement that this initiative aims to “significantly upgrade” the Grajewo facility, which also serves as its headquarters. The project is expected to generate new jobs and will benefit from tax reductions offered by the Suwałki Special Economic Zone.
This economic zone is one of 14 established by the Polish government to stimulate growth.

Tadeusz Mroczkowski, the president of Mlekpol, referred to the investment project as a “historic milestone” for the cooperative.
“As one of the largest investments in Mlekpol’s history, it will enhance our processing capacity, streamline operations, and solidify our position both in Poland and internationally,” emphasized Mroczkowski.
However, Mlekpol declined to share specific details regarding the investment, such as the number of additional cheese production lines, job creation, or potential use of AI and robotics when contacted.

According to Mlekpol, the dairy cooperative stands as one of the largest in Poland and Europe, representing over 7,500 milk producers. The business processes six million liters of milk daily across all its facilities.
The cooperative operates 13 production plants throughout Poland: Grajewo; Zambrów; Mrągowo; Kolno; Suwałki; Radom; Bydgoszcz; Sokółka; Dąbrowa; Białostocka; Zwoleń; Łódź; and Gorzów Wielkopolski.

Mlekpol’s website indicates that the cooperative produces around 500 products. These include UHT milk, cream, fermented dairy products, butter, cheeses, milk powders, buttermilk, whey powder, and whey protein concentrates.
Notably, Mlekpol supplies both retail and foodservice channels, along with B2B customers. Its brands comprise Łaciate, Milko, Mazurski Smak, Rolmlecz, Jogo, and Maślanka Mrągowska.
In addition to servicing the local market, Mlekpol exports its products to more than 100 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.
