Katjes Group has acquired a majority stake in SD Sugar Daddies, a prominent German cookie-dough business.

This privately-owned group has purchased a 25% stake in SD Sugar Daddies for an undisclosed amount through its German confectionery division, Katjes Fassin.

This is not Katjes Fassin’s first investment in SD Sugar Daddies. In 2018, Katjes Fassin acquired a 10% stake as the Cologne-based company behind Cookie Bros. was founded.

That initial stake was transferred to sister company Katjesgreenfood, which now holds a separate 27% of SD Sugar Daddies.

Founders Mark Mühürcüoglu and Paul Richrath, along with ProSieben presenter Christian Düren, retain the remaining shares of the company.

Cookie Bros. products, alongside mochi ice cream, are available at major German retailers such as Rewe, Edeka, and Kaufland.

“Cookie Bros. stands for creativity, innovation, and strong branding. We are delighted to contribute to the company’s further development with our know-how in sales and brand management and to explore new avenues together,” said Tobias Bachmüller, Managing Director at Katjes Fassin.

As one of Germany’s largest confectioners, Katjes Fassin boasts brands such as Katjes, Ahoj-Brause, and Sallos.

In 2016, Katjes Group established its in-house investment arm, Katjesgreenfood, to support emerging businesses. Their portfolio includes notable names like Mymuesli and UK-based gluten-free baker Genius Foods.

Moreover, Katjes Group describes Katjes Fassin as “legally independent” and houses a third entity—Katjes International.
