US food manufacturer CH Guenther & Son has acquired House-Autry Mills, a producer of branded baking mixes, seasonings and marinades.
The companies did not disclose the financial details of the transaction.
Founded in 1812, House-Autry serves foodservice operators, retail customers and private-label partners.
The company makes a broad range of dry food products, including batters, hushpuppy mixes, pancake, waffle and biscuit mixes, gravies, seasonings and flavouring ingredients.
House-Autry products are sold through major supermarket and grocery retailers such as Kroger, Publix, Harris Teeter and Ingles.
The family-owned manufacturer has production facilities in North Carolina and Georgia.
CH Guenther (CHG), which has been backed by private-equity firm PPC Partners since 2018, said House-Autry’s product range is “highly complementary” to its existing portfolio.
In a statement, CHG said the acquisition would advance “customer innovation, menu differentiation and long-term growth”.
Rod Hepponstall, CHG’s president and CEO, described House-Autry as an “outstanding strategic fit”.
He added: “Together, we will be even better positioned to reach more customers and help them create custom products and memorable food experiences, while driving long-term financial growth.”
Derrick Marconi, president and CFO of House-Autry, said: “This combination creates new opportunities to invest in our capabilities and expand our reach, while continuing to deliver the Southern-crafted flavour and partnership our customers have trusted for generations.”
In addition to PPC Partners, CHG is supported by its management team and co-investors.
The food manufacturer operates 30 production sites across the US, Canada and Western Europe.
Its brand portfolio includes Pioneer flour, gravy and biscuit mixes, White Wings flour and tortilla mixes, and Sun-Bird seasonings.
The House-Autry acquisition follows CHG’s purchase in April of Canadian flour-tortilla maker Les Aliments Mejicano.
In 2025, CHG expanded its Mexican food platform with the acquisition of US tortilla manufacturer Fresca Mexican Foods.
The group also bought bakery business Baldinger-Sons in 2022. The family-owned company operates across the US Midwest and Canada.
